Where to eat at Procida, our suggestions

One thing is certain: the uniqueness of Procida can also be found in the food! Each restaurant on the island has its own specialties and you will be surprised to discover the variety and flavours as you visit each restaurant. Here a round up of our fav places! and yes, we try them all 😉

What to do

La Pergola

One of our favourite spots is La Pergola, it’s not on the seafront but the beauty of its lemon grove will make you forget that pretty quick. From our camp it is also the closest restaurant, it can be easily reached on foot. La Pergola is one of the few restaurants to offer both fish and meat specialties: a typical dish of Procida cuisine is also rabbit! Do not miss the desserts: we recommend you to taste the cannoli, with an exquisite and unforgettable ricotta cream!

Da Mariano

Among the most typically Procidan and family-run kitchens, a real gem is Da Mariano alla Chiaiolella, where Mariano will personally take your order and will be able to recommend the best dish of the evening! The lemon salad is a must, and you will always find fresh handmade pasta and fish courses to be devoured against the backdrop of the small port of Chiaiolella. You will reach it with a short walk, but if you don’t feel like walking you can take the bus, line C, and you will arrive in a jiffy.

Ristorante Da Mariano, Via Marina Chiaiolella, 32, Procida. Tel. 081 896 7350.

Lido Vivara

Lido Vivara, also in Chiaiolella, will allow you to eat almost with your feet touching the sand! A restaurant where tradition and innovation meet. Here, in fact, you can taste the typical flavours of the island and the Neapolitan coast, reworked in a new way. Absolutely try the dessert with the crumbled figs with an exceptional flavour! The atmosphere is romantic and the scenography justifies the prices, a tad above average! 😉

Lido Vivara, Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo, 4, Procida. Tel. 081 896 0594

La Medusa

La Medusa is located at Marina Grande, the main port of the island where ferries and hydrofoils arrive. The restaurant is renowned for its raw fish offers, which must be booked in advance! Here too, tradition and innovation come together in an extraordinary combination of flavours. The atmosphere here is lively, in fact there will never be a bustle of people in the square where the restaurant is located. It too can be reached in about twenty minutes on foot, alternatively by taxi or bus line L!

La Lampara

La Lampara takes its name from the ancient lamps that fishermen used to hang on the prows of boats for night fishing. Being in an elevated position, it is undoubtedly the restaurant with the best view. From a table on the veranda or next to the windows you enjoy the breath-taking view of the oldest seaside village of Procida and listen to the sound of the waves breaking on the shore. Booking in advance is highly recommended, the cuisine is excellent and the fish main courses are always fresh and tasty. Again, the atmosphere justifies the price, a little above the local average!

Caracalè

Caracalè is an institution on the island! Tables overlooking the sea on the Corricella quay and a menu to make you lick your lips! The raw appetizers and especially the tartare are really delicious, the whole menu is exclusively based on fish. Quality, kindness and tradition will accompany you on a magical evening.

Trust us, we’ve tried them all!

We always advise you to book in advance, especially for high season and weekends. For this you can contact the Reception, our staff will be able to advise you and offer you support for booking!
